Women Build ![]() The mission of Women Build is to recruit, educate and nurture women to build—and advocate for—simple, decent and affordable houses in their communities. Who participates? Women Build is not about excluding men, it is about including women. Across the United States, women from all walks of life are working together to build Habitat homes. National Women Build Week challenges women to devote at least one day during the week to eliminate poverty housing. We have chosen May 11 this year, and the goal is to have 80 percent women on the site that day. Why? Women possess all the capabilities needed to build Habitat homes. In fact, women crews have already built over 1,900 homes. Women Build projects provide an environment in which women can feel comfortable learning skills they might not otherwise have the opportunity to learn. How do I get involved? Register to participate on the Women Build Team. Join us at the construction site. Go to the Women Build Calendar to find out more. To sponsor a Women Build team member, go to our Women Build Team page. Where are we building? We are building Maria Moore's home at SW 5th and B near downtown Corvallis. It is a small two-bedroom house that Maria will share with her daughter. Address: 556/558 SW B Ave • Corvallis, Oregon MAP Note: To access the build site, walk down the alley between house numbers 544 and 554 B Ave. Please park on neighboring streets. |
Join Us! Starting June 8th, we build every Saturday at 5th and B in Corvallis. Sign up on the Women Build Volunteer Calendar. |
