Introduction
Benton Habitat for Humanity is a volunteer-driven organization. We welcome people from all walks of life to join us as we build simple, decent, affordable houses in partnership with families in need. Though the vast majority have no construction experience or building skills, volunteers are involved in most phases of construction. By working side-by-side with the family who will own and live in the house, our volunteers experience the personal satisfaction of contributing to the joy created when a hardworking and deserving family realizes their dream of home ownership.

Benton Habitat volunteers contribute more than muscle. Creativity, strategy, and technical skills are among the many invaluable traits volunteers bring to the organization. With a minimal staff, Benton Habitat for Humanity depends upon volunteer committees for support with projects like Family Selection, Family Support, Public Relations, Construction Skills Training, and Volunteer Services/Coordination. We also offer opportunities in our ReStore, a volunteer-run building materials recycling and resale center.
We invite volunteers to help us build, assist in the office, work in the ReStore, serve on committees, and help with special projects that benefit the organization. Time commitments vary; some volunteers dedicate every day of the week to Benton Habitat for Humanity and others spend just a few hours each month working on projects or in the Benton Habitat for Humanity ReStore. As a volunteer for Benton Habitat for Humanity, you can choose to volunteer as little or as often as you would like. The ReStore consistently needs reliable volunteers to work from 3 pm to 5 pm Tuesday through Friday and throughout the entire day on Saturday. Specifically, skilled volunteers capable of learning the cash register operation and providing customer service as well as a few physically capable volunteers for donation receiving and processing. There is also opportunity for office work and data entry. All of these positions are vital to the construction of our simple, decent homes.
Construction volunteer opportunities are available each Wednesday, Friday and Saturday . We also need volunteers who can help us with newsletter writing and other communication and fundraising tasks.

Current Needs
* Site-host at Construction site (helps the construction supervisor with paperwork, greeting and other important tasks)
* ReStore volunteers - particularly Tuesday through Friday between 3pm and 5pm and all shifts Saturdays
* Project Manager for Benton Habitat's 20th anniversary in 2011
* Mentor for Partner families who require financial management and budgeting support
* Public Relations - organizes publicity, publications and newsletters.
* Office assistance - Help us with filing and volunteer registrations. Work your own hours, Monday to Friday 9-5.
* Technology Wizards - Help support our growing Information Technology needs on an "as required" basis.
