MURDOCK CHARITABLE TRUST, FORD FAMILY FOUNDATION AND FISHER TRUST finalized a two-phase strategic plan to create sustainability for Benton Habitat.  Grants awarded from 2004-2007 consolidate BHFH's base of operation, support the volunteer and mentoring programs and secure "The ReStore"and office sites.

Phase II grantors join the M. J. MURDOCK CHARITABLE TRUST, THE PAUL ALLEN FOUNDATION, THE FORD FAMILY FOUNDATION, THE DEQ, THE BENTON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AND THE SPIRIT MOUNTAIN COMMUNITY FUND's Phase I grant efforts. Click on "Sponsors/Foundations" on menu to the left for more info.

LAND DONATIONS
Dave and Jean Kliewer and Kinsey Green donated land for two of our current Habitat sites.  Together, they will create 13 new Habitat homes.  The City of Corvallis donated the now completed Conifer site and helped orchestrate the new Tunnison Site purchase with a CDBG grant.    Click on Sponsors, INDIVIDUAL, for more info.

 HOME SPONSORSHIPS
Local churches and business actively participate in BHFH's new Home Sponsorship Programs begun in 2006.

The Coldwell Banker Valley Brokers Home:
In celebration of their 100th birthday,  Coldwell Banker Valley Brokers committed to sponsoring 200 Habitat homes nationwide.  The local branch is sponsored two homes in Linn-Benton Counties, in partnership with WELLS FARGO HOME MORTGAGE, OSU FEDERAL CREDIT UNION AND FIRST AMERICAN TITLE.

                Kathy Powell                                     Teresa Estegard
This project, spearheaded by KATHY POWELL, Co-owner of Linn-Benton Coldwell Banker Valley Brokers, raised $37,000 for Benton Habitat for Humanity alone. With unbelievable dedication and perseverence, Kathy recruited her real estate agents, bankers, escrow agents, her huband, Tom, and family and friends to build two Habitat homes in Linn and Benton Counties.

In partnership with Kathy and Coldwell Banker Valley Brokers, TERESA ESTEGARD from Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, Corvallis, coordinated the Wells Fargo employee team, personally showed up for 20 construction days, and orchestrated a $17,500 Wells Fargo Grant to make this a reality.

The Apostles' Build Home:  Thirteen local churches have come together to help match funds and provide labor for two Habitat families.  Each church contributed two days of volunteer labor and provides lunches for two other churches' build days. Check out the process by clicking on the menu option:  "Sponsorship/Faith Organizations".

Habitat has built more than 300,000 houses around the world, providing more than 1,500,000 people in more than 3,000 communities with safe, decent, affordable shelter.
