Apostles Build

In 2006, ten churches adopted the "Theology of the Hammer" and created the first Benton Habitat Apostles Build. In true Habitat spirit, church volunteers "picked up a hammer and put down their differences" to build hope and homes with Habitat families.

Each church contributed labor, love, $5,000 and provided lunches for two other churches' build days. Northwest Hills Community Church, First Baptist, First Presbyterian, St. Mary's Catholic Church, Grace Lutheran, First United Methodist, First Christian, Good Samaritan, and First Congregational United Church of Christ took turns showing up on Saturdays at the Conifer Building site for the completion of the Carey home.

In 2008 First Presbyterian, First United Methodist and First Christian joined efforts in support of a new home in Lewisburg for the Dina Mitchell family. The home was completed in December of 2008. Thanks Apostle Builders! Click to see photos.
